Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is great for people who want to look younger and feel great by using alternatives such as acupuncture, acupressure, massage, cupping therapy, moxibustion and Chinese herbal products, as an alternative to techniques such as Botox or fillers.  These techniques can also help to build collagen, skin elasticity, and a brighter, more beautiful complexion.  At the same time you receive the added benefits of these ancient techniques, such as improved sleep, appetite control, and total relaxation.

"My approach to Facial Rejuvenation starts from the inside, treating the root cause of your concerns and thereby helping to promote naturally beautiful skin that can allow your wrinkles to fade, your eye bags to diminish, and your spirit to flourish."

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years.  As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD) the Chinese understood that beauty comes from within our bodies.  Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation techniques were used on the Empress and the Emperor's concubines.  Acupuncturists have found ways to change the energy flow within the body to help the body's skin to rejuvenate.  This increased circulation of blood and Qi helps the body to look and feel more youthful.

There was a great study done which was published in 1996 in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture* that stated in 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture 90% had marked effects within once course of treatment.
The documented effects included:

Improvement of the elasticity of facial muscles
Leveling of wrinkles
Overall rejuvenation, not only confined to the face

What You Should Know About Treatments

Each treatment lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is part of a 12 treatment series which is either done weekly or bi-weekly.  The cost of each session is $150.  Maintenance sessions are scheduled according to the individual's needs after the inital series.  You may see changes as soon as the first treatment, but each succeeding treatment builds on the last so it is important not to miss any of the initial 12 treatments.

I use only the highest quality, presterilized, disposable acupuncture needles  on the market for Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.  They are inserted gently around the face, neck and scalp.  Body points are also used to address the underlying causes contributing to the aging process.  If you have any other questions feel free to contact William Wessel at ELEMENT Acupuncture and Wellness at 617-922-1881.

1.  Stay Hydrated- Drink plenty of fresh spring water.  This can keep the muscles and skin hydrated to prevent drying.

2.  Gently massage the face.

3.  Don't smoke!

4.  Herbal Poultice- Thoroughly clean your face.  Make a poultice using equal parts of ground organic almonds, lavender and rose flowers, ground flax seeds, and oats.  Add water and French clay.  Stir into a thick paste.  Apply to the face, avoiding the eyes, and let it dry.  Wash off after 15-20 minutes.

5.  Walk at least 20 minutes a day, and remember to breathe deeply.
